
Elevate Burbank is a 501(c)3 non-profit formed by a group of dedicated, multicultural, multi-racial and multi-generational locals who care about Burbank, its present and its future.
Our mission is to promote the understanding of cultural diversity through events, engagement and partnerships with the Burbank community. We aim to create a Burbank where residents can experience and appreciate the cultural diversity in our city. By appreciating what all residents contribute to Burbank, we hope to create a modern Burbank that is unified, joyful, vibrant and prosperous.

Linda Bessin – President
Linda is retired and is currently serves as President of Haven Hills, a domestic violence shelter, and Board Chair of Valley Community Healthcare, a non-profit healthcare clinic.
Jonas Schwartz-Owen – Vice President
Jonas and his husband moved to Burbank in 2013, and he currently is Vice President of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle and an Account Director on the Disney Account for TenTek Recruiting Firm.
Yvonne Green – Treasurer
Yvonne is a CPA, mom, and community supporter.
Carmenita Helligar – Secretary
Carmenita is an entrepreneur, designer, mom and DEI activist for all of Burbank.
Adelina Hernandez
Adelina is currently a Senior at Burroughs High School, an avid golfer, and President of the Burroughs chapter of Junior State of America.
